The Boojum Tree

Alicia here.  The Boojum tree is pictured in the right.  This tree only grows naturally in the Sonoran desert in central Baja on the the gulf of California.  It is a bizarre tree named from Lewis Carroll's The Hunting of the Snark.  The legend is that if you get too close to a Boojum you "will softly and suddenly vanish away."  This Boojum is at the Phoenix Botanical Gardens, which is free the second Tuesday of the month.
